The RT London project transformed 3,581 SF of a historical 1903 building into an upscale, modern office space near downtown Grand Rapids. The completed open-concept office includes sound-dampening partitioned workspaces, collaboration areas, comfortable managerial offices, a kitchenette, staged product showrooms, and a welcoming entryway. First Companies added stylish finishing touches such as polished cement floors, eye-catching wall tile features, natural maple doors and wall base, and a maple-veneer wooden ceiling cloud feature.
The sophisticated executive suite includes dual power shades, open glass doors, and custom maple cabinets. Intentional choices, such as out-of-sight utilities and conduits, create a high-end office appearance. The combination of traditional maple finishes with the modern open floor plan allowed First Companies to preserve the historical charm of the building while incorporating contemporary features that reinforce RT London’s reputation as innovative, quality furniture manufacturers.
