In April of 2017, 7 Monks Taproom opened their 3rd beer bar in Grand Rapids at 740 Michigan Street NE. The mixed-use building was originally constructed by First Companies and 7 Monks selected us for their build-out as well. The wide, open space and 21’ 10” ceilings presented a challenge to create the intimate environment the owners were looking for. The main floor is over 4,500 square feet (SF) and the mezzanine has 1,100 SF. By using beautiful wood, natural materials and dark colors on the walls and ceilings, the team developed the inviting, cozy space the owners had envisioned. The space was strategically “segmented” with various places for customers to sit or stand while enjoying conversation, great food and an array of craft beer. As you enter, the bar is the obvious focus point with a custom-designed tap-wall for 51 different drafts. The project took 18 weeks to complete, coming in on time and on budget.
