When the opportunity arose to open up a new location in the 820 Monroe building, the owners of Field & Fire Café decided to expand their business. The build-out of the 3,400 square foot café came in slightly under budget, and was completed in less than three months. Utilizing the beautiful, historic masonry and wood timber structure, the Field & Fire Café was designed by its owners, Julie and Shelby Kibler, with a very open and inviting atmosphere, and family-friendly location.  The unique layout allows customers to sit by an island coffee bar and chat with their favorite baristas as well as peer into the kitchen to watch their food being prepared.

“The building was exactly what we were looking for, with a rustic, industrial feel and right across the street from the park. It offers plenty of parking for our customers and is a very comfortable setting away from the hustle of downtown. This is a great size for a café and gives us room to grow. Additionally, we wanted the layout to ensure transparency with the ingredients we use and how our kitchen operates; the openness of this space allows for that.

When designing the space, we collected photos that inspired us, and selected materials and finishes we wanted to use. First Companies did a lot of additional legwork for us, offering many helpful suggestions and a range of options to complete our vision within the budget. Our experience with them was great!  We could not be happier. We had heard so many horror stories from other restaurants about the huge delays they experienced, but we didn’t have any of that. We would definitely recommend First Companies to others.”
