West Michigan Dermatology

West Michigan Dermatology has hired First Companies multiple times to manage the construction of their medical offices, including their newest office in Rockford, MI. The goals for this 14,000 SF facility were to combine two existing offices and provide much needed space to accommodate their staff and better serve their patients. Using a design-build approach, First Companies utilized the expertise of the team, including the architect, designer, owner representative(s), and trade contractors, to ensure an aesthetically pleasing space that functions well for the growing practice.
The new office includes 22 exam rooms, several labs, two spacious waiting areas, office space, a breakroom and outdoor dining area for employees, and a 2,000 SF mezzanine for storage. To create a warm, inviting environment, the interior highlights the natural beauty of the wood by staining, rather than painting, the doors and trim. The space also features hardwood floors and large windows to let in natural light. The craftsman-style exterior was created using brick, cement board siding, and open timbers.
Thorough upfront planning and excellent communication allowed West Michigan Dermatology to complete the move into their new office, and be fully operational, in just three days. The building was completed on time and within budget. First Companies Property Management will ensure the building is well-maintained and continues to meet the needs of this client.
“This is the third project with First Companies that I have been a part of. Together, we’ve completed a suite remodel, a building remodel, and the ground–up construction of our newest office in Rockford. First Companies has consistently made the construction process as smooth as possible with weekly updates, scheduled site visits, and great communication. Projects like this are an immense undertaking for everyone involved, and having First Companies at the helm gave us confidence that the project would be completed to the highest standards.”
