As Michigan Software Labs continued its growth, the company turned to First Companies a second time for the build-out of its new 12,325 SF office. Their newest location spans three floors above the Luna restaurant in the heart of Ada Village. The project included design and construction of the main reception area, a full kitchen, multi-purpose space for training and team activities as well as room for the company’s support staff. On the second floor is a boardroom, private offices, open work areas, and several breakout/conference rooms for ZOOM and private meetings. The third floor includes additional office space and conference rooms as well as a spacious rooftop deck with a pergola for shade, comfortable seating, an outdoor counter, and cabinets.
This high-tech office features automated lighting, shade and HVAC controls, television, camera, and microphone controls, and much more! The monument stairway connects all three floors in the center of the office that was designed to be the ideal environment for its developers and staff. In addition to the rooftop retreat, employees enjoy a slushie machine, and electrified glass film on office windows for instant privacy at the push of a button. While COVID-19 presented challenges with material lead times, and the availability of subcontractors, all work was completed on time and on budget.
