First Companies was hired to manage the build-out of Lovell Hand and Orthopedic Center in New Vista. Dr. Randy Lovell, owner and lead surgeon, worked with Spectrum Health for many years but always dreamt of starting his own practice. As soon as he heard about New Vista, a class-A, award-winning, medical office building located along the East Paris Medical Corridor in Grand Rapids, Dr. Lovell knew this was just the opportunity he was looking for!
Lovell Hand is located on the second floor and occupies 9,142 square feet of the 42,000 square foot building. This suite boasts 38 total rooms including a reception and lobby area with floor-to-ceiling windows, procedure and exam rooms situated around centralized team hubs, a large conference room, an x-ray room, a training and therapy room, administrative and executive offices, a separate staff entry and locker room, a staff breakroom with access to an outdoor patio, and additional space for future expansion. Dr. Lovell included a personal touch to this build-out by naming each procedure and exam room after the various school mascots represented by his family. Four procedure rooms and eight exam rooms allow Dr. Lovell and his team to maximize efficiency and reduce patient wait time.
Given that neighboring tenants were open for business when this project began, material deliveries and construction noises had to be carefully managed throughout the duration of the project. Additional expert coordination with a first floor tenant was required when completing the plumbing and electrical work. Despite these challenges, this project was completed on time and on budget.
