Gourmet International now has 124,000 square feet of space to support their growing business. The family began the company 28 years ago as a successful retail operation. Over the years they transitioned into specialty food distribution has continued to expand as an importer and distributor of over 3,000 food items. After exceeding their ability to expand anymore in their previous location, the company made the decision to build and hired First Companies for the job. The new facility is fully air-conditioned and includes 16,000 square feet of office space as well as warehouse, packaging and distribution areas, two refrigerated areas, and one large freezer. The upper level is used for executive offices, storage and employee training, with plenty of room for future office staff. The building features an audio system throughout, with extensive security monitoring and alarm systems. Planning ahead, the site and building design allow for an additional 45,000 square feet when more space is needed.
